Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa on Thursday sounded tough against Sun Pictures and its Chairman and Managing Director Kalanithi Maran, when journalists asked whether her government would take action against the media group.
Replying to a query on actions being taken on Kalanithi Maran and his companies in the light of complaints being filed, she said, "Whatever complaints have been received, whatever evidence has come to light, will be acted upon with all seriousness."
Meanwhile, Sun Pictures Chief Financial Officer Unnikrishnan on Thursday appeared before the probe officers and submitted the money transactions of Sun Pictures for the last five years period. He had been issued summons on Wednesday.
Last Sunday, Chief Operating Officer of Sun Pictures W Hansraj Saxena was arrested for cheating a film distributor TS Selvaraj of Salem to the tune of Rs 82.53 lakh. Selvaraj claimed in his complaint that Saxena and few others intimidated him.
